Committee Report on Apr 6, 2009 

Travel Funds committee chairs would like to remind the committee members that one more round of TF applications ended on April 2, which means WE ARE MEETING AGAIN for another great review!! The review is THIS Wednesday, April 8, 5:30pm, Classroom #2 of the Main Library. Last time the committee worked until 9pm. So even if you can help for a little bit, your help will be very much appreciated. As always, COOKIES will be provided.

We would also like to remind all GSS Travel Funds committee members that in order to maintain membership in good standing, a member cannot miss more than ONE committee meeting during a semester. Please notify us if you cannot make it to the review.

The remaining GSS Travel Funds deadlines for the 2009 fiscal year are: May 21, July 9.

All future committee meetings (reviews) will be held in Classroom #2 of the Information Arcade in the Main Library. The meetings are scheduled for the following dates: April 8, May 27, July 15, 2009.

Committee Report on Mar 4, 2009 

GSS Travel Funds have officially gone green! All February applications were reviewed online. We are also excited to report that there were over 100(!) submissions for the February deadline; forty-four percent of these were funded.

The committee chairs would like to pass along a huge THANK YOU to the following committee members who helped with the review and (due to large number of applications) donated extra time to make sure the scoring was completed quickly: Nirmalla Barros, Vivian Costa, Edugie Ekuase, Tim Gupton, Paul Jermihov, Stephen Kaeppler, Donna Lancianese, Joe Matson, Jenna McKenzie, Yelena Mejova, Tim Paschkewitz, Kristina Rogers. Your help is greatly appreciated.

To find Classroom #2, enter the Main Library

(http://www.uiowa.edu/~maps/l/lib1.htm) at the North Entrance and make your first right to enter the Information Arcade; Classroom #2 is located in the rear if the Arcade and requires walking through the entire Arcade to find it. If you have trouble just ask at the info desk inside the Arcade. We hope to see you next month!

NEW ROOM for travel funds review - INFORMATION ARCADE ROOM #2. The next travel funds review meeting is scheduled for THIS WEDNESDAY, February 11 in Classroom #2 of the Information Arcade in the Main Library. To find the room enter the Main Library at the North Entrance and make your first right to enter the Information Arcade; Classroom

#2 is located in the Arcade and requires walking through the whole thing to find it. If you have trouble just ask at the info desk inside the Arcade. Please note: we will be reviewing applications electronically and while laptops will be available feel free to bring yours too (using your own laptop may make for easier start-up). In addition to laptops we promise COOKIES and FUN! Hope to see you there!

The next travel funds deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, February 5. Please note that, ONLY ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The next travel funds review meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 11 at 5:30pm. We promise COOKIES and FUN! Hope to see you there!
