The Christina Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program announces its 2010 sessions and call for applications. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and those who have completed graduate studies or postdoctoral research in any social/behavioral science, medical/health discipline, physical or biological science, any field of engineering, law/business/public administration or any relevant interdisciplinary field within the last five years are eligible to apply. The program takes place in Washington, D.C. and is open to all U.S. and non-U.S. citizens who meet the criteria. A stipend grant award of $8,240 will be provided for the 12-week session to offset expenses.

Winter/Spring: February 3-April 28, 2010

The GSS Social Committee is planning a trip to the Field of Screams haunted corn maze. Please mark your calendars for Friday, October 23. More information will be available in future mailings with more detailed information, but for now, mark your calendars and prepare yourselves for a scary good time!

Time: 1-4pm
Location: Dubuque St. at Terrell Mill Park across from Mayflower Residence Hall
What will we be doing? Volunteers will remove flood debris and trash from river banks.This event is sponsored by the UI Civic Engagement Program, City of Iowa City Public Works, UI Water Plant, UI Facilities Management, The 10,000 Hours Show, Saturdays in Service, Department of Natural Resources and Johnson County Conservation Board.
