Service Learning & Civic Engagement Forum
The Jakobsen Conference Committee is very excited to continue the Service Learning and Civic Engagement forum at the 12th Annual James F. Jakobsen Conference. Many faculty, staff, and students at The University of Iowa are already participating in various forms of service learning or have found ways in which to "take their academic work into new spaces" and increase civic engagement. Details will be posted as they come available, but plan to participate in some exciting activities:
- A poster session where UI graduates can share their scholarship and explain how they are integrating service learning and civic engagement into their teaching, courses, and research.
- Community partners and agencies on site to discuss opportunities within their organization for collaboration and to feature current collaborations with the UI.
- A Roundtable discussion led by engaged faculty, students, and staff!
- UI organizations and resources to help you take your work to different areas - and to provide you with valuable knowledge and resources
- Increased community participation - it wouldn't be a Civic Engagement forum without open arms and a welcoming attitutde!
Graduate Student Senate is able to bring you The Service Learning and Civic Engagment Forum due in part to generous support from:
Please, invite any partners involved in your work to attend the Jakobsen Conference.
