Graduate students should submit pre-recorded research talks online  by April 23 at 6 p.m. Please view the video submission instructions.

Talk Guidelines

  • No longer than 5 minutes
  • Presented in layman’s terms to be understood by a wide audience
  • Unlimited slides and animations
  • Videos and sounds/music within the talk are allowed (no longer than 30sec)

Each successful pre-recorded talk submission will receive an automatic monetary prize. Large prize winners will be announced live during the virtual conference on April 29.

Judging Guidelines for Top Prizes


  • Adequate background and set up
  • Clear understanding of the research and key results
  • Appropriate language for lay audience, avoiding scientific jargon


  • Engaging and enthusiastic about research topic
  • Slide layout precise, legible, and relevant
  • Sufficient presence, vocal range, and pace
